ARTIST STATEMENT:
I paint with the same passion with which I see the world. Every image, every person and every moment are taken to a canvas with the same importance as I perceive them and each being the sole motivator of each piece in where I always try to express what I feel and at the same time, have them make you create your own story, where we are all of importance. When I paint in reference to a photo, I focus more on the translating expressions, subconscious gestures and light which will otherwise go unnoticed by the eyes. Painting under the light, that is real life has made me understand the unspoken language of the human body. I use acrylic paint, oils and pastels. I also utilize textures quite a bit which is what kickstarts the inspiration for my pieces. The texture creates the main composition of the painting, form there the colors and shadow contrasts start emerging.
